Estimating Shannon Evenness with uncertainty and other parameters associated with diversity values

Hey Willis Lab. I have less of an issue and more of a question. I'm happy to ask via some other forum if this isn't the place. I notice that in Dr. Willis's stamps 2018 lecture on diversity, she advocated, where possible, using Richness and Shannon Evenness (ShannonH/Richness) to describe diversity. I'm wondering what the best way is to handle Shannon Evenness in DivNet. I know that I can divide the Shanonn index estimate by the richness score estemate to get an evenness estimate, but then I wonder (A) how do I then combine the uncertainties in each measurement and (B), how can I create Shannon-Evenness data in a form that I can use the other useful tools that your team has produced like betta() on the evenness data. Maybe this has been described somewhere and I'm missing it, so if I just missed a key paper or help file, please let me know. Thanks so much for your consideration.

Hi @cramjaco -- just an overdue update to let you know that the very capable Sarah @svteichman is working on this.

You're absolutely right that it is possible to estimate Shannon Evenness with DivNet, but there are some technical/methodological challenges, and we had don't yet have user-ready software for this yet.

You can expect an update in the next month or so.

Thanks for your patience and I'm sorry didn't get back to you earlier.
