Openfortivpn stuck at setting new route in ubuntu

Open optisimo opened this issue 8 months ago • 6 comments

Hello Wizards,

I have an issue with openfortivpn where it's getting stuck at "Settings new routes" but when I use forticlient on windows establish the tunnel and then SSH to the ubuntu server and then try to connect with openfortivpn it works perfectly.

I tried to update the server so that maybe some missing packages would get updated. I tried to check the /etc/ppp/options to see if "silent" was uncommented in the file.

Nothing work. What can I do to troubleshoot the issue ?

Edit 1:

  • Os version: Ubuntu 22.04 Jammy Jellyfish
  • openfortissl version: 1.17.1-1build1

See https://github.com/adrienverge/openfortivpn/wiki#debugging-openfortivpn.

It would help to have additional information: version of Ubuntu, version of openfortivpn, logs, etc.

Thanks for the advice I just edited my post.

I'll try the link troubleshooting tips tomorrow at work.

It would be better to test the latest version 1.21.0, although I doubt it can help in this specific case.

I am not certain I understand the difference between the case that works and the case that doesn't.

Same issue on MacOS using version 1.21.0 installed using brew. Connect just stuck at the point where routes needs to be applied. Sometimes it works, but mostly don't. No such issue with version 1.20.0. and version 1.20.5.

@m0t1x This seems unrelated. Please open a new issue if your issue persists with option --pppd-accept-remote=0.

Hi Papadopoulos, With --pppd-accept-remote=0 seems to work. I tried few times and there were no stuck at the set routes point. Thank You Very Much. Best Regards,Marijan
