Requested Talk Topics

@olleolleolle told me about this great idea that the Copenhagen Ruby Brigade is doing:

They have a list of talk topics that people want to know more about that haven't been talked about before (either at the meetup or in the Ruby community at large).

I like this idea, because it gives some insights what people want to learn more about but also, it helps potential speakers to get an idea or inspiration on what they should do a talk about.

From a lot of people I heard that they always wanted to do a talk but never really had a good idea or anything intresting to talk about. Having a list like this could help these people to get started with giving talks.

I'm not sure how we'd implement this on RubyEvents.org, but I could imagine either having a list per Meetup or one global list where every user can request a talk topic.

I like this idea maybe it could be upvotable like product hunt?

I would like to try and work on this.

Would this be a new tab alongside, Events, Videos, Speakers, Topics and CFP or would it be under the Topics tab.

Further, when someone writes up a recommendation for a topic should they also provide a description or is just the title/concept of the talk enough?

@adrienpoly Could you please explain further what you mean by it could be upvotable like product hunt?

This feature has nothing to do with the existing "Topics" we have on the site right now.

I would be more of a new section where people can suggest "Talk ideas" or "Talk titles" that they would love to hear a talk about on.

And other people can either suggest more talks or "upvote" an existing topic if they interested in the same talk.
