Reminder in Count Up Mode
While count up mode allows for the flexibility in choosing when to take a break, I noticed myself often forgetting to take a break for hours at a time.
An option for a periodic reminder in count up mode every X minutes, not requiring user interaction, would be very helpful.
Alternatives considered:
Count down mode The user would be forced to take a break, and if the user chooses to continue, the breaks won't stack.
Above, but with break budget The user would have to disengage with their work, interrupting the mental state of the user.
Above, and automatically continuing to break or without insistent notifications If the user wants to work, they will have to intervene, resulting in the same problem.
It would also be very useful to have a reminder of when the break is over, it's too easy to not realise and not end the break on time otherwise.

I thought that was already a well known feature?
@FlingCarnationProposal Only breaks in the classic Pomodoro method work will set off an alarm when they reach their end. In the newly introduced Count Up / Third Time mode, they don't, hence my conment 🙂
But they do for me? As in, when the break is over, the alarm sets off, even in count up mode (with break budget).
Ah, thanks! I think it wasn't doing anything on my end because my device was on vibrate mode, which marks Android's "Notification" track as unavailable. I've enabled "Override sound profile" to make Goodtime notifications behave like alarms, let's see if that works.
@axelsimon In count-up mode do you use gestures to start the break or just pause the focus session?
@adrcotfas I had no idea gestures were a thing! trying that now in this session and will confirm if it makes a difference :)
@adrcotfas it works fine with the breaks started using the gestures. It does feel a bit like a hidden feature though. I've been using Goodtime for years and i had no idea this was a thing into you mention it. It might suffer from a discoverability issue 😉
The gestures are promoted during the tutorial which can be restarted at any time from the About section. Maybe that helps.
Maybe the tutorial can add some text to clarify that "skipping a session" means starting a break? It took me a while to figure out that the "skip session" gesture was the proper way to start a break in count-up mode rather than "pause timer".
