[Feature Request] Android Wear support

Open Madwonk opened this issue 3 years ago • 3 comments

With more competent Android Wear devices popping up on the market and 3.0 around the corner, Android Wear support would allow me to finally leave behind the most important use for my Pebble 2. For me, something as simple as a start/stop button and notifications would be sufficient, but I'm not sure how strange my use case is.

I'm not experienced with Android Wear development, but if someone wants to point me in the right direction I can take a look at the code and see whether I can figure out where to start on such an implementation. Thanks!

At the moment you can start a session from the phone app and then see the countdown and control the next sessions though the notification buttons on the wearable. I assume you would like an Android Wear standalone app which I assume would not be trivial to implement.

Unfortunately for me, the notification doesn't seem to make it to wear os since it is a silent notification. A wear os companion app would be amazing as it allows me to put my phone away to avoid distraction during a session. It would likely not be trivial, but likely would not be a huge undertaking. For me, the lack of a watch support has pushed me to excercise timer for now even though this app is an overall better experience.
