Clean RHEL8 system from IBM Cloud cannot run due to python dependency issue

Open sxa opened this issue 1 month ago • 4 comments

See https://github.com/adoptium/infrastructure/issues/3914#issuecomment-3468269957 for the details. RHEL8 does not appear to be able to locate a suitable python interpreter to allow the yum upgrade all task to work. It seems ok from the command line but I guess ansible is going under the covers for this one. 169.63.185.12 is a system accessible to the infrastructure team for analysis.

This is due to the unusual way python is configured on RHEL8 hosts..

/usr/libexec/platform-python = 3.6.8 /usr/bin/python3.9 = 3.9.20

Ooh hadn't noticed the were 2. Good spot. A "python_interoreter" override should be fine then.

@sxa the playbook has now completed successfully on this node. Im currently testing the draft PR above.
