Add a block for Adoptium news on the main page
While we await the launch of the new website, it will be beneficial to make room for important news or marketing on the current main page of adoptium.net. In this way, we can stop using the banner for such items but still reserve real-estate on the very high-traffic main page for directing visitors to current events such as the Security Case study, the upcoming Adoptium Summit and so forth. This real-estate should be for Adoptium-related stories and content.
This new area can share the real-estate currently given to the Adoptium Working Group block at the bottom of the main page.
Should we horizontally 'shift over' the WG block, or just add another full-width marketing block on the page (vertically) ahead of/following the WG block?

Happy with either (whichever is easiest IMHO), this is temporary while waiting for a fall launch of the new website, but not wanting to abuse the banner
If possible, it will be nice to have start and end date.
Is it something very simple like that you want?
Questions:
- Do we add news "hardcoded" in the projet or coming from an API?
- Do we need an advanced presentation? (paragraphs, links, bold, etc...) ?
- What do you mean by "it will be nice to have start and end date."
Hello Xavier,
The idea is to have a banner like we have for release announcement on the top of the homepage but as a new block. It could be either a news, a case study or a event we are organizing, it should be an event at the time.
Do we add news "hardcoded" in the project or coming from an API? We should follow at least the process as the current release banner, Ideally to have a template issue for submission.
Do we need an advanced presentation? (paragraphs, links, bold, etc...) ? This will be ideal, we can limit the information to Title, description and Call To Action link. https://github.com/adoptium/adoptium.net/issues/2795
What do you mean by "it will be nice to have start and end date." Maybe this is not easy to implement but to have an start and end date on when to showcase, whatever we consider that should be there. this is a nice to have.
Ok, so the goal is to display only 1 news.
I have to find a solution for the publication. For the moment it is like the banner, in the file.
Fields are:
- Title
- body
- date
- link (if any).
- A date to start the display
- A date to stop the display
date should be (if any) this field should not be mandatory, it will depends if it is an event (yes) and news (no).
and about the colours, can we use different colour for the title?
