readopting D1 mini into ESPHome
This is more or less a process question and maybe I'm not doing this right, first time using ESPHome and an ESP board so please forgive me.
In ESPHome I took the tagreader.yaml file, pasted it in the configuration file for the d1 mini, changed some variables, saved and installed.
After installation, it loses its original connection in ESPHome, and shows up again in ESPHome as adoptable. The issue is that it says it will create a new configuration file for the device when attempting to adopt it.
Is there some step I'm missing to readopt the d1 mini into ESPHome or am I not installing the configuration file correctly?
I had the same problem. I guess it is related to the tighter integration of Home Assistant with the API. Once I adopted I could install the full configuration.
I adopted it and then was able do flash the "tagreader.yaml" code. So I kind of flashed the d1 mini three times.
