Image editor bug for image component referencing page featured image

Bug Report

Current Behavior When clicking on the image edit button in the image component tool bar for an image that is referencing a page featured image, the following error is displayed

ERRORSorry, could not start image editor: Could not load mimeType information of image resource, request to /content//en/core-components/image-test/jcr:content/root/main-container/container/image/file/jcr:content.json failed

Expected behavior/code The image editor to open

Environment

  • AEM version and patch level 6.5.20
  • Core Components version 2.25.4
  • JRE version (e.g. Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_152-b16))
