... but are you just cleaning folders, or does it means that AS4 is still breathing and can be resurrected?

All the sources are there ( *.tex files)

Work on the AS4 compiler and VM wasn't completed, so that's one reason you're not seeing it here.

The other reason is that this is the Adobe Research account, so it (theoretically) only hosts research output. In the case of AS4, the language spec and whitepaper were the work of the Programming Language Research Group (a short-lived spinoff of the Advanced Technology Lab). The Flash compiler team was the group primarily working on the actual implementation of the language, but they were building an actual product, not doing language research, if that makes sense.

Sounds a bit pedantic, but I think it makes sense in terms of compartmentalizing things across different Adobe accounts here…
