Prerequisites

  • [x] If you are reporting an issue that affects glyphs for characters for a particular region or regions, did you verify that the characters are within the supported scope of the region or regions? This generally means GB 18030 or Tōngyòng Guīfàn Hànzìbiǎo (通用规范汉字表) for China, Big Five or CNS 11643 Planes 1 & 2 for Taiwan, HKSCS-2016 for Hong Kong, the JIS standards for Japan, and KS X 1001 and KS X 1002 for Korea.
  • [x] Did you thoroughly search the open and closed issues to avoid reporting a duplicate issue?
  • [x] Did you go through the official font readme file to better understand the scope of the project, to include the Known Issues section at the very end?

Description

image The IPAmjMincho and older version of Source Han Serif here are for reference as to what a better design may look like.

U+5BEB 寫

In all variants the 舄 doesn't look properly placed under 宀. There is too much room on the left side while it's overlapping on the right side.

TW/HK/CN

Screenshot 2021-12-09 003518 Especially in the TW/HK/CN variant the 舄 part doesn't look neat as I point out here: The distance between the five horizontal lines should be equal. But it's significantly shorter between the bottom two lines. The starting point of the 撇 stroke (left-slanting downward stroke) beneath 臼 is too close to the left thus making the room on the left looks disproportionate to the right.

U+95DC 關

JP/KR

The 𢇇 part looks too small compared to the 門 part. This also causes too much empty room on both sides of 𢇇 in this glyph.

TW/HK/CN

Screenshot 2021-12-09 000057 (The two glphs are the same.) The closed blank I circled here looks disproportionate in the whole glyph. I don't know how to describe it. It just makes the glyph looks weird. There should be enough room under 門 and above 𢇇. Overlapping should be avoided as much as possible unless it's unavoidable in heavier weights.
