Including the character itself after the Unicode code point also helps, for visual reasons. Images with annotations that pinpoint the issue also help. If you are referencing standards, please keep in mind that they may have known or unknown errors. It is not necessary to provide CIDs.]

In the table of glyphs within Illustrator CC we did not found the superscript and subscript mentioned glyphs.

Those were likely omitted to save space for other characters. You could use Source Sans (non-CJK) to find all of the glyphs you're looking for.

@frankrolf Hello Frank. We have an RPA that exports chemistry formulas in Illustrator CC files with paragraphs placeholders. Since there are hundred of files it would be a daunting task to edit the texts just for the characters that should have been included in the first place 👏

In that case, why do you have to use a CJK font? What makes you assume they "should have been included in the first place"? Source Han contains the absolute maximum amount of characters possible to ensure pan-CJK support, therefore some areas have to give. The glyphs you are looking for are included in the design, just not in the specific deliverable you are using.

@frankrolf - The exported texts in the Illustrator CC files contain Chinese Simplified translations with chemistry formulas. This is where the need for the missing superscript & subscript glyphs come in place.
