Why not? As typeface for code comments, for example ?

Unless someone else would like to volunteer to do the design work, I do not think that I will add small capitals to the fonts.

I understand the unwillingness to add them, but here’s a use-case (specifically for c2sc): In the Lisp world, Common Lisp implementations print the (case-insensitive) names of variables in all caps by default in all contexts, and Emacs Lisp in some contexts. I would find it moderately less disturbing if I could see them printed in small caps instead. In general, programming environments which encourage or require the use of all caps (Fortran comes to mind as another example; even Unix has occasional instances like the names of constants in C) could benefit from this.
