Non-video views not updating while in PIP mode

I've implemented the package and the sample code to my app. I've also added a background timer to change values when the app is in PIP mode ( i.e. background )

I can see the values changing in logs, but somehow the view in PIP area is not updated. It shows a screenshot of the app just before entering PIP mode.
