i need highlight & note functionality, as calibre or readwise reader have it. Please add it
I've been searching for the perfect way to sync highlights, notes and reading status for years now. I haven't found the perfect solution so I've settled on a paid alternative, bookfusion. Koodo reader is a close second, but the android reading app is too sluggish on my boox ereader.
Lately the selfhosted community seems to be getting more active around digital book management and -reading (think Calibre web automated, booklore, KoInsights). I really hope this moves forward into a selfhosted all in one reading solution with both book management, reading and notes and annotations management.
So same as I post on the other GitHub project pages, I'll post my +1 on this feature request here too!!
Yeah, BookFusion's highlight/note syncing is excellent. That's what I use too, but I'd love to have something like that built into Booklore!
Great addition would be some kind of export function to enhance notes further in other tools like logseq.
I imagine the difficulty is that different reader stores highlights differently. This project supports KOReader (which I use, thanks!) and Kobo as well. Which ones should it support? Cross compatibility must be hard to achieve.

To be honest, I could settle with the ability to highlight only in the webapp as long as the highlights and notes can be exported in a open manner.
Please implement highlight functionality with the ability to sync and export option.
have been trying to figure this out myself
might worth to have a look at whatever https://unearthed.app is doing it’s open source
@adityachandelgit koreader added the annotation sync https://github.com/koreader/koreader/pull/13372 but files still need to be manually transferred
I am patiently awaiting highlight and open export functionality. Really hope this gets added, myself and many users would benefit. 🙏
Actually, this is the only dealbreaker why I’m not convinced to use BookLore. Having so many highlights and notes, I do not want to lose them.
Come here to vote for the most important missing feature in all open source ebook solutions i surveyed so far. hope booklore is the first one to implement this.
