Permissions for watched folder

Open EinKantHolz opened this issue 1 month ago • 1 comments

Hi. I'm quite new to Booklore and have a question. I have a SMB share on my TrueNAS for eBooks and Booklore is running on my Proxmox server. Now I want to use the SMB share as watched folder for Booklore. If there are changes (adding new books), Booklore will recognize and add them. For that I mounted the SMB share with cifs-utils in the Booklore container. Now my question: Does Booklore (the user with access to the SMB share) need write-permissions or just read-permissions?

For understanding: Is this folder used as a central folder (like calibre used that for its library) or is it just a dump folder and the books get saved somewhere inside the Booklore container?

Short: Write-permissions for watched folders needed or not?

And can I use this watched folder for multiple libraries? If I have all my books there (from kids books up to snu snu time books), how can I split them in Booklore into multiple libraries if I have only one watched folder? Thanks in advance.

You are using a bug report / feature enhancement tool for questions

Why don't you ask a question to your favorite LLM. Claude gave a decent enough answer that I cannot paste here
