Feature Request: Stopwatch Command Plugin for Fluent Search
When I'm working on tasks and want to quickly time short intervals (e.g. 5 minutes for a break or micro-focus session), I currently have to rely on external timer apps or devices. This interrupts my workflow and goes against the seamless, keyboard-driven experience Fluent Search provides.
I’d love to have a simple stopwatch or countdown timer feature built into Fluent Search. Ideally, the feature would work via a typed command in the launcher, such as: Stopwatch 5 minute or short SW 5m
This would immediately start a 5-minute countdown timer in the background and optionally show a live timer or notification when the countdown finishes.
Key features:
- Simple syntax:
Stopwatch [minutes] - Visual indication of the countdown (in the overlay or a small pop-up)
- Optional notification or sound alert when time is up
- Ability to cancel or reset the timer with commands like
Stopwatch stoporStopwatch reset
I’ve tried using external timer apps, Windows clock, or browser-based timers. While functional, they break the focus and speed Fluent Search offers. AutoHotkey scripting is another alternative, but it’s less user-friendly and not integrated into the Fluent Search workflow.
This would be useful for:
- Pomodoro technique / focus sessions
- Timed breaks or cooldowns
- Quick countdowns without leaving the keyboard
