Watomatic doesn't work on some Xiaomi devices
ISSUE: Fails to work on Xiaomi device
Well, as said above, the app works fine on Xiaomi device with a major flaw.
It doesn't Reply to any of the incoming messages.
May be, it's due to, different notification channel which is different from other OEMs, used by Xiaomi on its software MIUI as usual.
Device Specifications:
- Android: 10
- MIUI: 12.0.3.0
- Model: Redmi Note 7S
Hi, thanks for reporting this with device specs. Yeah that is very much necessary to know as the app does not have built in analytics (for a good reason). Not all but a few Xiomi models may have this problem. Will try to figure out a way to eliminate bad apples and make it unavailable on play store.
@spuday90 was using Redmi Android 10 device to test the app and it was working there. @spuday90 mind sharing your device specs?
My device is Mi 10i Android 10 MiUi 12.0.4
Also my other device is Redmi note 5 pro
Here is an idea. We can perhaps write some code to detect if it was able to successfully send a reply. The app should reply to the notification as it normally does and then test if the notification still exists. If notification still exists, it means the reply mechanism did not work. By the above logic if we detect it is not able to reply, we can show an error to the user and ask them to submit it.
As we keep getting sufficient data, we can consider making the app unavailable for those devices.
Should try this and see if it works. Feel free to add your ideas if any.
I have a Xiaomi Mi 10 and had the same issue.. Mi 10 Android 11 MIUI 12.2.4
Can we test it without depending other user to send us a message?

Hi, Reply for WhatsApp works, but not for FB Messenger (original and lite). Redmi Note 7 Android 10 MIUI 12.0.3.0 extended by Nova Launcher
