Add support for additional external m3u/xmltv sources

Open michaelarnauts opened this issue 4 years ago • 5 comments

  • Adds a menu to do the configuration
  • Show a menu item if Simple IPTV isn't configured correctly (to make it more visible that configuration still needs to be done)
  • Allow creating external sources to an online or local m3u or xmltv
  • Support on-the-fly gzip/bzip2 decompression

Very nice. So I just configure iptv manager with some M3U and xmltv sources that I have for testing and see does it work the same?

It should work like that. A later improvement could be to automatically add a source for an existing configuration from IPTV Simple so the user doesn't even have to add it again if they are already using IPTV Simple.

Yes, that would be a great next step. What what great is if iptvsimple could send the files to iptv manager if installed. Then reading files/settings could be completely avoided.

@Rvhalewyn has a setup where this PR can be tested. How exactly should he go about installing the addon from this PR?

Additionally, I am willing and able to test this PR on Kodi 19 and/or 20, on a Windows 10 installation.
