Incorrect opening animations on Windows Phone

Open adchsm opened this issue 10 years ago • 3 comments

I have had a few reports of incorrect opening animations and positions when using Slidebars on Windows Phone.

I'm unable to properly test on an actual device, and must resort to BrowserStack, IE11 and their developer tools. If anyone can assist me with testing and debugging i'd be very grateful.

The animation seems smooth and uses css transitions and transforms. At the end of the opening animation, the site container seems to jump to a different position to what it should be. The closing animations seem to be fine though.

This error seems to occur with the overlay style too. The Slidebar performs the animation, then seems to drop back by about 50%.

As you can see in this screenshot, the site container has moved across, and jumped back to a different position, leaving a blank area on the right hand side. screen shot 2014-07-14 at 09 52 48

Using the developer tools, the hover position indicates where the site container should be. screen shot 2014-07-14 at 09 53 03

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

Thanks, Adam

I created a small video for this issue (which you've already seen) in case someone might need a visual aid as to what is going on

thanks again Adam for a great plugin

Just wanted to follow up.

I just installed the latest windows update on my test device and it seems to have fixed all issues I was having with our site on a windows device....slidebars and others.

Now running Windows 8.1 Update (OS Version: 8.10.14147.180).

Slidebars works as expected, although the animation isn't as smooth as on other devices, there is no more bounce or issues with fixed position elements.

Our corporate policy is for end users to always install the latest updates on their mobile devices when they are realeased, so from my standpoint, this issue is closed.

Hi Geoff,

That's great news, thanks for letting me know.

I'll keep this open for now as the problem still exists for older versions and I'd like to see if I can get it sorted.

Thanks for letting me know again,

Adam
