Update code examples with configurable get_parameters

To be merged after Flower 1.0 has been released

I ran into this issue about required parameters when using 1.0 today with the examples. I went to submit a PR, but pleasantly found this one already existed. I implemented the changes suggested in this PR and now the examples (only a few) that I tested work. Is there anything I can assist with this PR?
