Can't "uncheck" FTP Curl checkbox

I was able to list files from a client but failed when trying to open. I tried checking the FTP Curl (experimental) checkbox to see if that resolved the problem. The re-login failed to the server. I then selected 'edit' to uncheck the box but when I do, it remains checked and I can no longer access my client's site (times out).

I'm guessing that since it's expermental, it's incomplete. But I do need to know how to uncheck the option.

I will remove that option as it's not needed any more. Please resave the site to disable it.
