Can't navigate directory structure

I am trying to add a new server to ShiftEdit and after connecting I can see the directory tree. However, as soon as I click on a map, it doesn't open to show me it's content.

The other servers I have in ShifEdit are behaving well. So I was looking for some different setting in the server, but I can't find it. The connection I make is SFTP with a public key. I also tried to fill a different path, but ShiftEdit still shows the full directory tree, starting at the root.

Sorry to come up here with probably not a ShiftEdit issue but a server thing, but I couldn't find any solution so far.
