Fetch tax rates for product groups

Any thoughts on implementing tax rates for product groups? e.g.

JSONVAT.country('GB').rate(:ebooks)

I suspect most digital services will be taxed with standard rates. However, eBooks range from 3% to 5.5%. With the new tax changes I would have to research the tax rates of 27 member countries for each digital service and/or product that I sell. That would be a real PITA.

I'm curious how other people are planning to handle this.
