sadly, the only way this could be fixed is if either apple begins supporting .safariextz files, or someone decides to convert the safari extension to objective-C or swift via Xcode

that wouldn't happen because they said that .safriextz can contain viruses so they stop supporting it

or someone decides to convert the safari extension to objective-C or swift via Xcode

we still need an apple developer account that cost 99$ a year

It seems like the new Safari Web Extensions format would simplify creating a Safari version. From the site:

A Safari web extension adds custom functionality to Safari using JavaScript APIs and common file formats from extensions for Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge browsers.

With regards to the cost, I'd be more than happy to buy the extension from the mac app store for a few dollars. You wouldn't need that many people to do the same before it could pay for itself. I realise this opens up a world of financial complexity, but it would certainly be a nice thing to have.

would it be possible to use a user.js script (i.e. tampermonkey) for this?
