When unrendering modifed HTML, convert to Markdown

Open adam-p opened this issue 10 years ago • 2 comments

This is an extension/fork of #33.

When reverting HTML that has been modified while rendered, the user will lose her changes. It would be nice if the HTML were converted back to Markdown, so the user doesn't lose changes, but still gets to go back to Markdown.

  • It would be great if we can support synching back the modified to markdown
  • So we can use Chrome plugins like Grammarly to check the spell and syntax against the rendered html, then convert the change back to markdown.
  • We can even create one standalone online markdown editor.
  • All online markdown editor can't sync back the modified render to markdown and doesn't work well with Grammarly.

Does anyone know of a competing/similar project, or fork, which has this feature?

EDIT: I filed this feature request in an actively-maintained fork: https://gitlab.com/jfx2006/markdown-here-revival/-/issues/46
