Difficulty modes
I'm creating this issue here because a few have asked for it / other ideas to solve the same problem.
The game is difficult. Too difficult for some. A way to ease this could be difficulty modes. "Easy" could choose larger streets more often, and or the scoring could be more lenient.
I don't plan to add this. I might if a lot of people really want it, or if someone wants to contribute and add it (reply here first please).
Feedback on Hacker News shows that people's opinions vary wildly on difficulty. It's area-dependent but people also want different things from the game. There was a lot of feedback on difficulty though, plus radius size (#14) and street length (#19), so I should implement some form of solution.
There were suggestions to add a setting for filtering out objects by category. Related: #19
Great idea here to have difficulty modes like "taxi driver": https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=30742066. This might help in making everyone happy.
Finally, as one person suggested, maybe the game could get progressively more difficult.
