Force Discharge stops working after one percent

I try using the recent version of the tool with the command: "battery maintain 60 --force-discharge" It starts to work but essentially reverts back to charging up after one percent of the battery was dropped. I use a MacBook Pro M2 Max with a Thunderbolt Dock from Dell and an external monitor, keyboard and mouse. Yet I do not use clamshell mode.

I turned off smart battery charging. Yet, the charging still enabled itself every now and then. Seems like mostly it enables itself as soon as 1% is dropped.

Same thing happens when trying to charge up. I am trying to go from 60% to 90% for a road trip tomorrow - it starts charging, then basically stops immediately. No matter if "force-discharge" is set! This is a blocking bug imho!
