Vertexing produces vertex candidates that are unreasonable

Open paulgessinger opened this issue 2 years ago • 4 comments

Edit @andiwand:

AMVF without beam spot constraints seems to seed reasonable vertices with x=0, y=0 and z close to 0 with a toy example of 2 muons. The problem I am seeing is that the kalman update here will blow up the vertex position for some reason.

after looking into this I think this problem is produced by the vertex fitting if we have a bunch of similar tracks. in our full chain example we do not have an ambiguity resolution and end up with >7 tracks per particle. fitting these tracks to the vertex will result in noisy, large positions

should we close @paulgessinger ?
