Payment icons not visible in Store settings and Storefront footer

We have recently migrated our gateways to Shopify Payment Platform and have issues with payment icons.

We are referring to icons in PR: https://github.com/activemerchant/payment_icons/pull/319

Our payment icons are available in the lists of payment methods using our partner account (payment application settings).

However, merchants who have installed payment app aren't able to see them under payment settings and storefront footer.

Looking forward to hear back and provide more info if required.

:wave: Hello @drajk, thanks for the report. Question, were the Latitude icons available in the store settings and storefront footer before the Shopify Payment Platform migration? If so, can you link us some documentation about this migration? I personally don't know what's involved.

Yes, latitude icons were available before migration.

We have 6 approved icons (in 2 seperate pull requests), however 2 icons (latitudepay and genoapay) work fine with new payment platform and only 4 icons (latitude_creditline_au, latitude_gem_nz, latitude_gem_au, latitude_go_au) have issues.

Here is the screenshot to show how it appears in footer with old payment platform.

Also, here is the screenshot to show how latitudepay icon appears with new platform and latitude_gem_au, latitude_go_au are not rendered.

We have been getting lot of feedback from merchants and they are complaining about missing logos.

👋 Hey @drajk, we've shipped a potential fix for the icons not appearing in store settings. Can you take a look and let us know? As for not appearing on storefront, this is an ongoing issue we're looking into.

👋 Hello @drajk, just heard back from some colleagues regarding storefront icons. Apparently Shopify Payment Platform based gateways' icons are not supported on storefronts at this time. Unfortunately I don't have any sort of ETA for such.

Hey @larouxn - We have 4 payment apps, logos work for 2 of them and not for other 2. I am just keen to understand why it is not supported for other 2 as merchants are asking us the same question.

Hey @larouxn - All 4 payments apps are on Shopify Payment Platform. latitudepay and genoapay icons work fine. latitude_creditline_au, latitude_gem_nz, latitude_gem_au, and latitude_go_au have issues.

any news on this? For us it is still true that payment icons from our payment methods (Shopify Payment Platform) do not show up in the footer

👋 Hello @t1ll, I just reached out to some colleagues to confirm the current situation. They stated that yes, still "Payments Apps are not supported on storefront".

🙏 thanks for checking the current situation @larouxn - I hope Payment Apps will be supported soon - our merchants don't really understand it and blame our apps to be less good than others (old payment gateways...)
