Should "option" be tested under Form field has name? [e086e5]
The option role is excluded from Form field has non-empty accessible name . This is explained in the assumption, arguing that options are not user interface components. This is true. Options are potential values... but SC 4.1.2 also requires values to be programmatic, so I'm not sure if an option element doesn't have an accessible name, that would still count as a 4.1.2 violation. I'd like to see the group consider if this should be added.
option is identified as an element that supports name from content and from author. ARIA 1.2 says that the name is required for this role. See ARIA 1.2 name from content as an example.
In short, I'd say it has as it's the job of the listbox to determine the value based on selected options, right?!
