Bootstrap 4?

I know this is intended for bootstrap 3, but i'm looking at the css code, and i think it should be working fine in bootstrap 4. well, it doesn't. in 4, the text is pushed to the upper side of the arrow, and only that upper half of the arrow is visible. the lower half is empty. so definitely broken, and i can't figure out why. anybody knows?
