Does not work for IGES export

Open Idefix82 opened this issue 1 month ago • 2 comments

I use a free Hobbyist version of Fusion360. As I try to export manually my designs in F3D, Step, STL, IGES, it works perfectly from the file menu in Fusion. But with th script , the IGES is not exported. The message is "RuntimeError: 3 : Cannot execute the export operation to create the file in the format specified by the ExportOptions as the user is restricted." (See at end for the full report for on design)

I have check, I am administrator of my project.
Is there a limitation for free version in script mode ? Thank you for any help.

(I have tried with my designs, also with designs loaded for this try.. ) Obviously, I don't woant to export all my 1200 designs manually.

Haven't seen this before, thanks for reporting. I wouldn't be surprised if it is restricted in the free version, maybe if you know someone with a license they could test that theory?

Thank you for your reply. I will try to find someone who has a license. Luckily, exporting to STEP works. Since Autodesk will not maintain support for Windows 10, and I don't want to migrate to Windows 11, I'm forced to leave Fusion and probably switch to FreeCAD. And also to Kubuntu. I'm also recovering all my designs; some are still in progress, and that's a lot of parts and assemblies. (I started with Fusion in 2020.) The DXF export is very useful, and your script is a huge help. Thanks again.
