Problem Description
The video link for this 2018 TACL paper (presented at NAACL 2019) goes to a file not found page at Vimeo. Is the video recoverable?
https://aclanthology.org/Q18-1041/
Thank you!
Hi Emily, we (the anthology) are not hosting the videos on our own, this is done by the respective event organizers. I think that someone from the ACL did a backup of videos (@desilinguist iirc) but these would not be publicly hosted.
Side note: all the other videos from ACL on vimeo seem to be only watchable after login, as they have no age rating ...
Maybe Nitin or @mjpost know who operates the ACL vimeo account; this person can probably see whether your video is still somewhere in the account. In this case, we can simply update the link if needed.
This is strange: I tried accessing that page under a number of different accounts I have, and all I ever see is this:
This is a distinct message from what I see if I make up a number, in which case I'm told "Sorry, we couldn’t find that page". This suggests to me it exists.
A second oddity: this is the second NAACL 2019 video for which this has happened. I have an email in January regarding this page: https://aclanthology.org/N19-1209/, which shows up the same error.
We do have a "pro" account, so I'm going to see if I can get some formal help from Vimeo. I'll update here with the results.
I'm also tagging #2637, because it somewhat increases the urgency of that task.
@mjpost can you also look into the rating for the videos so they can be watched without an account?
Done
I see from @mjpost 's 2024Q3 report to the ACL Exec that videos have been moved to local hosting. (Thank you!)
I'm following up to see if this (and the other NAACL 2019 video that Matt alludes to above) have been recovered, since I don't see any link to it on the corresponding Anthology page
