[Examiner] improvements and suggestions

Open ridz1208 opened this issue 6 years ago • 5 comments

  • Improve handling of users self-changing their names on Loris to automatically update the name of the examiner linked to that user

  • improve UI for examiner status editing within the user_accounts module

    • change checkboxes to multiselect
    • change logic to look more like sites
  • Add logic for instruments to only allow selection of examiners which are active without altering the value saved if the examiner is no longer active

  • create the Examiner entity class and populate with all relevant functions currently in utility or instrument class

(bits and pieces from Redmine #11777)

Isn't it risky (from a science perspective) to automatically update the name of the examiners for data that's already been entered and possibly published on?

@driusan valid... maybe it can be discussed at a meeting ?

Just want to add that this is becoming a real problem for CCNA: Describe the bug A clear and concise description of what the bug is Currently examiner at is using checkboxes with abbreviation to assign a user as an examiner at a site. When you have multiple projects and many sites, this system becomes very messy and cluttered (see screenshot from ccna). It would be good to change this.

What did you expect to happen? A clear and concise description of what you expected to happen. A multi-select like the site selection could be a good idea.

Additional context Add any other context about the problem here.
