Description:
The topmost entry in the right-hand side list of equipment for vests and backpacks does not have +
/-
buttons:
The next item down works fine:
Re-arranging the list by mod/amount/... doesn't make a difference, the topmost entry is always missing the add/remove buttons.
A few things of note not visible in the screenshots;
- If the list of mags is long enough for scrollbars to appear (hard to do with just vanilla+CBA+ACE), the topmost visible item behaves like the issue above: once you scroll it far enough up, it's still fully visible, but the buttons go away.
- I recently played with UI settings, but a) ideally, that should not break things in this manner and b) I tried resetting the UI and using an entirely fresh profile, to no avail.
- If I already have the item at the top (due to mission setup) and open an Arsenal, the count is displayed correctly, but again, it can't be changed.
I think the topmost item is seen as "already scrolled off the top enough to hide +
/-
", when it shouldn't be. If it isn't a bug, I dunno how to fix it via settings on my end.
Where did the issue occur?
- Both SP (ACE Arsenal from main menu) as well as MP. It's a UI issue, so I doubt it would make a difference.
Log Files:
- I doubt there's anything in the RPT about UI stuff.
'latest' is an invalid version, but luckily it's easy to find in 'Arma 3':
- In an RPT file, if the file is new, there's a line 9 starting with
Version:
, and every time you reboot the game. Needs theNo logs
disabled in launcher 1st. - In bottom right corner of Eden, left of the
PLAY SCENARIO
button. Not sure if that's there without the Eden mods I got, though. - In the bottom right corner in the main menu. Easiest to get to beyond the logs.
- In the top right corner during the loading screen into a mission or Virtual Arsenal or ACE Arsenal or Eden. This is best screenshotted, though.
There, fixed it. 2.06.148470
We don't just want to see the rpt for error messages ocurring simultaneously with the bug symptoms. Just fill out the template. Also, at least with my full modset I can't replicate this.
Arma3_x64_2021-11-30_19-25-58.rpt.txt
RPT file.
Also, at least with my full modset I can't replicate this.
That doesn't surprise me, I have to yet run into anyone that has this problem. But I am out of ideas.
Things I tried that didn't help:
- Make new profile, don't touch any UI settings
- Move Arma profile dir (
C:\Users\klausman\Documents\Arma 3
) out of the way, only configure screen resolution to 1920x1200 borderless fullscreen - Verify game files about 25 times (it felt like)
I do have a three-monitor setup, but they're all the same res and have worked fine for over a year before this started happening. About the only thing I haven't tried is an OS wipe, and that idea is ridiculous.
Also note that the vanilla Arsenal is fine.
I have done more experimenting with window modes and resolutions:
- Windowed fullscreen (1920x1200): broken
- Fullscreen (ditto): broken
- Window at 1920x1200 (picked in settings): broken
- Window at 1920x1080 (or anything not 1920x1200): fine
I conclude that some layout math/magic gets broken at my resolution on my monitor, for unclear reasons. I can't possibly be the only one with running that resolution, so there must be another ingredient.
New data after a Windows reinstall (sic):
Changing the Interface size to "normal" or "very small" makes the buttons appear, but with set to "small" the bug as described happens. I am pretty sure this is some rounding error in the awful UI element size calculations that are unfortunately necessary. I'll try and play with them, see if I can make it work for me.
This issue also happens on my setup (interface set to Small).
I think this might be fault/bi
. Someone in my unit had this bug, persisted after Windows reinstall. Only went away when they got a new monitor.
Well, it doesn't happen with the default BIS arsenal.
