Suggestion: Improve Device Name Editing and Display Last Online Time Column

Open VaneEcho opened this issue 1 year ago • 3 comments

I have a couple of suggestions to enhance the user experience regarding device management:

  1. Device Name Editing: Currently, to modify a device's name, a separate button is required. This becomes inconvenient when dealing with many devices, especially if you need to scroll back and forth to find the device again. I suggest enabling name editing by double-clicking directly on the device's name. This would make the process faster and more user-friendly.

  2. Last Online Time Column: It would be helpful to add a new column that displays the last time a device was seen online. Additionally, having the option to sort devices by this time would make it easier to monitor device activity and identify recently active devices.

These changes would greatly improve the usability of the interface, particularly for users managing multiple devices. Thank you for considering these suggestions!

Is there a way via the API to toggle known/unknown status WITHOUT renaming the device or re-specifying the current name?

Hi everyone,

I see this feature on (v2.0.4) but doesn't work. When you click on Edit Names button I can change or add a new name, but there isn't a Save changes button or something similar, and nothing change after click again on ' Edit Names` button or pages refresh.

Does this happen to anyone else? Is this a known issue?

It is also not possible to put a record back as "unknown".

Thanks and best regards,
