Issues with copy/pasted items randomly getting connections
Making a connection from one item to another artboard. When I created the connection, another random connection came from a copy/pasted element to another artboard at the same time. Was fixed when I recreated these elements instead of copy/pasting them.
When you copy and paste a link-layer, the information about the link will be copied with it. You will need to use the Remove Link
command if you don't want the pasted layer to behave as a link.
I have a problem with one artboard which doesn't have any copy/pasted link and the other end of the connection is pointing somewhere else, in between the artboards, not to any layer/artboard and I can't get rid of it, each time I add a new connection it re-appears (if I deleted it before manually).
How do I solve it?
@danieliust could you please email the Sketch document to me (abynimbalkar at gmail dot com), if you are allowed to? That will be the fastest way for me to debug this.
@abynim Sent, thanks for taking a look!
I was having the same issue with copy/pasted layers and the link data. How do I fix the random links if the pasted layers are no longer there(deleted)?
@abynim This feature aims to duplicate the links with the elements. However in real cases, we designers always duplicate the artboard mainly for making a new one, without wanting to copy the links as well. Personal suggestion: add a checkbox in settings: copy link when duplicate artboards, and default setting is uncheck.
=)
Just come up with an idea and dont know whether it is possible or not: When we conduct "Remove all link" function, is it possible for us to remove the child elements' links too? in this case i can just select all the copied elements and "cmd u" to remove all duplicated links
