Would it be possible to have Disk Arbitrator ask for admin privileges when deactivating to mount a disk?

Can you elaborate on a couple scenarios?

• In its current design, Disk Arbitrator (DA) is only able to affect mounting when the app is running, so a user is able to defeat it by quitting it. Prompting for the user's password for deactivation would not stop a user from (force) quitting the app.
• There is another request for a "snooze" button, which would disable DA for a few seconds, perhaps 15–30 seconds. This strikes me as a convenient feature for someone who is the original target audience and is using DA in a deliberate manner (i.e., it was not installed by someone else on their behalf to protect them).

It appears to me that an admin password prompt loses its value in either scenario above, but I might be missing the point.

Thanks for coming back to this. DiskArbitrator is really useful. You've made a very good point, what I'm after really is some way such that without really looking for it, casual users don't know the app is running or even exists unless they really look for it. If it wasn't visible in the menu bar maybe? I have to give my laptop to people to use but don't want them copying stuff from it easily.
