I need to figure out how to get the formatter check to only run on elixir v1.12 since it is different now.

You have access to matrix.elixir that you could interpolate into the mix format command

We can close this now that #1155 has merged, although I am worried about the comment above to avoid rescuing the ensure_compiled! which I did add so we may need to take another look at that
