In ClearOS / CentOS / RHEL 7 the X11 fonts misc directory is provided by xorg-x11-fonts-misc package: repoquery --whatprovides '*/fonts/misc' texlive-base-2:2012-45.20130427_r30134.el7.noarch xorg-x11-fonts-misc-0:7.5-9.el7.noarch

yum install xorg-x11-fonts-misc file /usr/share/X11/fonts/misc /usr/share/X11/fonts/misc: directory
