Can you update `sof-tools` as well?
5.4 headers shouldn't be installed by default. the default kernel stays because it's still pulled by base-system or whatever. not sure what pulls linux5.4-headers, but I assume something pulls linux-headers...
Could do something stupid simple, three directories`/etc/oneshot/earlyboot`, `/etc/oneshot/lateboot`, and `/etc/oneshot/shutdown`. and run the scripts there if +x'd. `earlyboot` would be before runit services are started, `lateboot` could be run last...
`xpkg` isn't part of the base system and is provided by a separate set of tools.
