Clicks "fall through" the modal on mobile

You can reproduce this issue in the demo:

• Tap on an image to open the modal.
• Tap on another image in the dimmed area behind the modal.

Expected: The modal closes (since you tapped on the dimmed area).

Actual: Modal reopens with the image you tapped behind it.
