It'd be nice to be able to Add Snippet and also Search with configurable shortcuts

That's a good idea!

As you may be able to tell by the fact it took me 6 days to respond to this, I have been quite busy so it might take a while before I can write an implementation.

Additionally, I'd be happy to merge a Pull Request if you prefer things happen sooner :-)
