@darkhatcher17 Ok. You may also start using another Desktop Environment. I like LXQt. It's very useful and lightweight (I also use some window managers).

Tray icon menu incorrectly pops up by itself if user clicks on it for updates and then lingers on the update dialog

Probably some bug related to plasma/wayland. I get no issues in my Lxqt X11 session.

[FEATURE REQUEST] octopi-notifier could use "shown when relevant" to show only when updates are avaliable

It was coded, but disabled. Fixed upstream.
