Audio taking forever to be sent with Soundcard as an input.

Trying to get a small Zello gateway up and running for a local repeater. But i have a problem. Sending audio from my phone via Zello to the radio is no problem, everything works flawlessly (except for a few underruns but thats expected with weak CPU like on the Pi3).

Otherway around its quite bad. Takes usually 10-30seconds for the program to even start the stream. everything is running at 22.05k, mono. I tried to fiddle around with the settings but couldnt really get any change :/ The program does trigger the record function and it buffers the audio. Just doesnt send it right away.
