Attach error messages to the wrapper, not the fields?

Is it possible, that the inline error messages (lazyCustomMessages: true) are not attached to the form element itself but the container defined at "fieldWrapper"? Because as you can see here (http://cl.ly/image/2Z3S3J0v0J2q) my radio buttons are side by side, and so there is not enough space for the error messages and they are too narrow.
