Please define 'set up' a bit more. Did you manage to open the dub.json in Xamarin Studio? Does it compile your project? Is it not finding the 'dub' executable because...
Please consider rtfm again - you can set the dub executable's path explicitly in the settings. In the link I've posted it's explained what to do, despite there's no graphic...
I just had such a case, but due to my 8 GB of installed Ram, it wasn't crashing but just leaking 5GB :D
Okay, that issue was just a small inifiniloop, so probably not the actual issue. Can't reproduce it though.
It would've surprised me if local imports weren't handled. Why not use a simple string[] instead of Java-like ArrayList
In the dub.json of your main project, where do you specify userman's used configuration? Despite that, what's the kind of misbehaviour you see? What's the actual bug?
Oh, subconfigurations - I haven't touched this topic yet. Anyway, mono-d only invokes dub on the highest possible project in the dependency tree, so dub shall care about building dependencies...
Ah okay, so if there's such subconfiguration given, mono-d shall interpret it and pre-select e.g. the 'library' configuration. Okay then :)
rdmd - isn't there some kind of support for this already?
http://wiki.dlang.org/Mono-D#Dub_Project_fails_to_build_under_OSX I've made it a known issue now :)
