Hard to tell if "demolished" is selected

Here we see the big red block with the word "demolished" in it.

Well there is a 50% chance that what I'm seeing means demolished is selected. And then there is also 50% chance that what I am seeing means that if I want to select demolished then I push it. So your job is to make it extra clear to the user, just by looking at it, to be able to tell the state of this button, please.
