Laravel 5 Compatibility
Are you planning on a version of confide and entrust to work with Laravel 5?
Would be nice to know this too, for near-future projects.

For now, Confide 4 is only compatible out of the box with Laravel ~4.0.
Soon I will be creating a new 5.0.0-beta.1 tag that will target Laravel 5 specifically, since there were major changes in the framework, especially in the directory structure.
Nice to have a branch created so some of us can possibly assist ;)
Hi Zizaco, I have a question though, with latest release of L5, there are built in features which may suffice use of confide, so do i really need to wait for confide or Entrust alone is enough?
Thanks
Confide adds some niceties. Checkout the laravel-5 branch for a Laravel 5 compatible version. That'll be in master shortly. On Feb 13, 2015 10:08 PM, "hardikaecor" [email protected] wrote:

thanks for the answer @andrewelkins but i can't see Laravel-5 branch on https://github.com/Zizaco/confide :( Hope I am looking at a right place
Sorry about that, was referring to Entrust. Confide should work as-is with Laravel 5.

+1 Just tried Condife with Laravel 5. It seems that the recommended package structure for Laravel 5 has changed. I'm Getting "Call to undefined method" for "$this->package" in the Confide service provider. There is no more 'package' method in "Illuminate\Support\ServiceProvider".

Laravel 5 included authentication http://laravel.com/docs/5.0/authentication. so do we need confide anymore?
Laravel 4 (and probably previous versions) include authentication as well. What Confide does is add a set of rich features to the authentication process.
